Final evaluation of the project ‘Fight Against Child Trafficking’ (FACT) in Moldova

Evaluation

The original aim of the FACT project was to reduce the risk of child trafficking by focusing specifically on children at risk of trafficking, and to repatriate victims of child trafficking from Russia. Research revealed that increased risk of child trafficking was found to be closely associated with the difficult socio-economic conditions affecting many families across the country. The focus of the project was therefore extended to cover children fitting into one or more of the identified risk categories, not only those considered to be at immediate high risk of trafficking and/or exploitation. The project focussed on community-based actions in 18 locations in three raions. It established child protection units in the 18 locations and introduced group psycho-social activities for children and parents.
