Briefing: The Financial Transparency System – How to improve its functioning and reliability

This briefing identifies changes in the scope of the information to be published in the European Commission’s Financial Transparency System (FTS) from 2028 onwards, following the adotpiton of the revised Financial Regulation on 23 September 2024. The briefing also identies several factors that continue to limit the utility of the FTS as tool for public transparency and accountability regarding the utilisation of EU funding.
